About the HR Dr.

Meet Lisa A. DeRoché, PhD

Lisa has been leading human resources projects and teams for the past 22 years. Prior to working in child welfare, she spent 7 years providing human resources leadership to those in integrated healthcare and social services settings and 15 years in financial services in New York.

Lisa’s experience includes leading and implementing management development and culture programs that weave diversity, inclusion and wellness initiatives throughout the organization, geared towards improving engagement and effectiveness for all employees. She is consistently called upon to lead, facilitate, promote, champion and support organizational change, policy and procedure overhauls, performance management programs, and data driven strategic initiatives. Lisa has created fellowship and mentoring programs in order to develop young professionals in the world of healthcare and finance management. She has also led management of Green Belt projects using the DMAIC model approach to improve human resources processes.

She has created and led committees that support the spiritual, financial and emotional health of employees. She has chaired Employee Resource Groups and participated on Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Councils. She was a member of the Berkeley College of New Jersey’s MBA Advisory Committee, and is the Chair of the SHRM NYC Chapter Mentoring Program, and holds the role as Chair of Girls Inc. Long Island. Lisa is an HR Consultant with PDV Consulting, author of the book, The Grave in My Soul, and host of a video podcast entitled; Let’s Talk HR geared towards mentoring HR professionals at all career stages.

Lisa has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from SUNY Old Westbury, an MBA from Dowling College, and a PhD from Capella University in Business Management with a Human Resources specialization.
